    FEM and mesh done.
    First draft of the report due Tuesday.


    Two-part foam kind of cheap, still look for a free sample to test.

    15th & 16th Meeting

     For Oct. 27 & 29:

    Attempted to run a load/stress simulation using Solidworks 2009.

    Meeting to finish prototype was scheduled for Oct. 31.

    Presentation was outlined.

    1. What is a Mini-Baja?
    2. What are the major components we must deal with?
    3. What is the competition about?
    4. What have research and and past designs revealed?
    5. What were our inital concepts?
    6. Why did we chose our current designs?
    7. Gantt Chart showing our production goals?

    -Watched Brian and Roi  continue to work on the model. Very impressive.

    -Moved the old car into shop.
    -Discussed more possible designs.


    I'm using Visio 2007 to make the Gantt Chart.

    Started PVC-modeling.

    Dean and ABET board will do a walk-through so the shop must be cleaned and organized further.

    9th Full(ish) Meeting

    For October 6 2009:

    Talked with the professor about building a full scale wooden  model and that we must be quicker to the build then the rest of the class.

    Cleaned up the cellar to make room for the build.

    7th Full(ish) Meeting Minutes

    For September 24, 2009:

    Project Requirement Paper due has been pushed backed to October 1.
    - It should be one page, listed how he described before, and with a short opening and closing paragraph.

    Looked for gear, keeping in mind of the 44:1 ratio.

    Looked for more specification for the water trials but found little.

    5th Full Meeting

    Preliminary duties/assignments were set for each group member.

    Preliminary frame design 33% complete.

    Manuel will write a first draft for this assignment SEP 24 TH: PROJ. REQUIREMENTS DUE

    Registration for the competition is October 5 and must be made quickly as space fills up fast.

    4th Full Meeting Minutes

    Brainstorm leads to final choices.

    - Aquatic- Not chosen until rules come in.
    - Drive Train- CVT+Reduction Box, maybe Manual Overdrive - Rear Wheel Drive
    - Suspension- SLA (Short-Long arm)
    - Brakes- Disk brakes
    - Steering- 4 Wheel Steering
    - Frame- Strength calculations - Roi is making one a preliminary design.
    - Electronics- Listed.
    - Ergonomics- Design later

    2nd Full(ish) Meeting Minutes

    Class lesson:
    Techniques for design process
    -Creative problem solving
    -Invention
    -Brain storming

    Next Class - Literature, patent, and research process.


    Meeting : Went downstairs watched as Roi and Jon discussed the Mini-Baja.

    -Recycle and reuse as much as possible.
    -Maybe get better shock absorbers, coil? $3,000?
    -Solidworks 2007 offered for group use, vote on this for next meeting.
    -Multiple drivers needed, minimum weight and height requirements, license and medical insurance also required. 
    -5 second in-out test
